He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Holmes and Irene Holmes (Vagtz); and his brothers, Leonard, Richard, Donald, Audley, David and Paul.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Holmes (Peck); his daughter Elaine Fitzgerald (Robert); his grandson Ryan Fitzgerald (Tracy); his great grandchildren, Scarlett and Kayley Fitzgerald; and his sister Audrey Wcisel (Holmes).
