Elaine Marie Stoner Obituary
Elaine Marie Stoner, 92, passed away December 20, 2024, at home with her family by her side. Elaine was born at her family farm home on May 24, 1932, to the late Rudolph and Alma Schmidt.
Elaine was able to experience many adventures through the years which created a lot of stories to tell. Many of her favorites were what it was like growing up on the farm, attending school at the one room church schoolhouse, and Sundays after church was family time. Also, attending Saturday weddings at the local hall meant a night of dancing. One Saturday, she met her future husband, Jack. He asked her to dance, which turned out to be the first of many for their 58 years of marriage. Their adventures took them traveling to almost all 50 states in an 8' trailer. They returned to their home state with two children in tow. They would eventually add their late in life child after purchasing the old Moll farm in Standish. Throughout their journeys they experienced the need for laundromats. Elaine and Jack would eventually own 5 laundromats and sold the final one in 2013. The traveling continued by wintering in Arizona and Florida until Jack passed away. Elaine's last big adventure was traveling to Alaska. She spent her 89th birthday flying over Denali National Park with a smile on her face. Elaine was very dedicated to her faith and her family. She took great pride in her religion and shared it with all who surrounded her.
