Daniel R. Stanley Obituary
Daniel (Dan) Stanley (62) passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on the morning of January 7th, 2025.
Born July 28, 1962, in Bay City, MI. Dan was predeceased by his father Richard and survived by his mother Dianna Stanley. Dan married Jolyn Cornell on July 16, 1983. Together, they raised their children Laura Hernandez (Jake), Lisa Crider (Chad), Anna Langstaff (Brian), Sara Bergman (Seth). He leaves behind six beloved grandchildren Mason, Audrey, and Wyatt Langstaff; Remi and Cara Crider; and June Bergman. He is also survived by his siblings Dave Stanley (Del) and Deana Garry (Chuck).
Dan spent 33 years working as a chemical engineer and farmer. His passion for farming started from his grandpa Tony Zawacki and was passed on to his grandson, Mason, who spent time by Dan's side on the farm. Dan could fix anything from farm machinery to cars, plumbing to electrical and more. He designed and built his home in Bentley, MI with help from friends and family. He even cut trees for the lumber in his family's home, and continued to cut firewood to heat it all his life.
Dan was a member of the Gibson Township Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed rides on his Harley, exploring places like Hawaii, Canada, the UP, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. He snowmobiled in the Upper Peninsula and Canada. He spent time hunting in Alaska, Canada and Michigan getting 2 moose, many bucks, and a bear. In his younger years, Dan liked to play football, baseball, and ride his dirt bike.
He made sure his family visited many places: the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, and England, and numerous National Parks and museums across the compass points of the United States.
He and his wife purchased a cottage on Lake Huron, which he later remodeled as a place to retire and relax with his family and friends - all of whom have had a chance to feel the love and care he meant as a gift to them. His family has truly benefited from his well thought out plans and will be missed beyond measure.
