He is survived by: his wife Chris; his children, Brian Cowles (Melissa) of Cincinnati, OH, Tim Cowles (Faiza) of Chicago, IL and Betsy Cowles (Slater) of Eaton Rapids; his grandchildren, Luke, Nora, Mia, Alex, Holden, Esme, Wyeth, Dylan and Vivianne; and his siblings, Bill Cowles (Jeanne), Annie Hansen, Jan Laughlin (Kip), Beth Bandelow and Thelma Suban (Rick).
