He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar II and Helen Brown II (Koschmider); his former wife Susan Brown; his daughter Clinda "Cindy" Miller; and his grandson Cody Pellfrey.

He is survived by: his fiancée Sharon Shaw; his daughters, Amanda Stahley (Eric) of Jackson and Maggie Bearup (Jason) of Albion; and his sisters, Helen Eileen Brown of Harrison, Gloria Johnson of Holt and Mary Dezess of Lansing. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
