He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Sunkle and Margaret Stark Sunkle; his son Darcy Sunkle Jr.; and his sisters, Pat Ashworth, Debra Seger, Diane Ackley and Rose Kemmer.

He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Sunkle; his children, Jodi Peek (Fred), Jamie Niceswander (Bobby), Jason Sunkle Sr., Derrick Sunkle Sr., Kindra Yahnka (Rich) and Nicole Mckenzie (Eric); and his brothers, Harold Sunkle (Denise), Richard Sunkle (Jean) and Donald Sunkle (Becky). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
