He was predeceased by: his parents, Hendrina Bod-Amting (Rinie) and Theodorus Amting (Theet). He is survived by: his siblings, Rinie, Theet Amting and Azewijn; his wife Sonja Gussinklo-Amting (Zina); his daughters, Julia, Olivia and Audrey; his siblings, Anjo Hellinga (Piet) and Rick Amting (Leanne); and his pet Lucy. He is also survived by nieces; nephews.
In remembrance of Ben Amting's life, and of his dedication and hard work, the family asks in lieu of flowers that any charitable donations be made to support education and future needs for his girls. Donations may be made directly to Sonja Amting for the Amting girls' established fund.
