Wilbert Gierke Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 3, 2021, at the age of 78, Wilbert Gierke of Spring Lake, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gierke and Violet Gierke (Engelehardt); his siblings, Allen, Melvin Gierke and Geraldine McCalla; his sister-in-law Pat Gierke; and his nephew Stuart Gierke.
He is survived by: his son William R. Gierke; his wife Dr. Carol J. Markiewicz; his stepdaughter Kathleen Markiewicz (Jarod VerBerkmoes); his granddaughters, Rosalind and Elsa VerBerkmoes; his sister Dorothy Lomerson (Elmer); and his siblings-in-law, Jennifer Gierke, Patricia Markiewicz, Victoria Keens (Edward) and Dr. Kenneth Markiewicz (Joy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to family members and friends with immune deficiencies or who are unable to receive vaccinations, we respectfully request that strict adherence to COVID-19 protocol be observed, and we ask that all in attendance, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask for both visitation and funeral service.
