He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Ryan and Margaret Ryan (Shanley); his mother-in-law Kathryn Blendermann; his daughters, Deborah Biscup (Thomas) of Sterling Heights, MI, Annette Farrell (Daniel) of Middletown, NY, Kathryn Loewe (Charles) of Clawson, MI, Melissa Brenberger (Eric) of Grand Haven, MI, Dorothy Masters (Daniel) of Warren, MI and Kimberly Graft (Daniel) of Tecumseh, MI; his stepsons, Doug and Ryan Kendrick; his daughter-in-law Melissa Ryan; his close friend Cathie Stall; his wife Kathryn; and his son Thomas M. Ryan. He was also cherished by 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
