He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Benkert and Patricia Benkert (Donner); his son Shawn Ordaz-Benkert; his siblings, Shelly, Sally, Janice Marie Benkert, John Anthony and Lawrence Robert Benkert; his father-in-law Ron Wilke; and his sister-in-law Amy Wilke-Huizenga.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Benkert; his children, Samantha Benkert (Daniel Thompson) and Steven Benkert (Ashley); his stepchildren, Amanda and Brent Nelson; his grandchildren, Brooklyn VanDyke, Braylyn Nelson, Max Kniat and Bentley Wiseman; his mother-in-law Janice Wilke; his siblings, Loretta Downer, Diane Kooi, Paul Benkert, Bruce Benkert (Maria), Brad Benkert (Sue) and Andy Benkert (Anne); and his siblings-in-law, Dee Langlois, Deb Faucher (Gary) and Don Wilke (Nora). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
