As Roland departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Roland may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Roland leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Coats and Ruth Coats (Bunday); and his brother Raymond. He is survived by: his wife Fern Coats (Watson); his daughters, Rhonda McPherson (Tim) of Spring Lake, MI and Stacy Cutler (Mark) of O'Fallon Il; and his sisters-in-law, Joy Chambers and Shirley Coats. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Oakridge Cemetery (614 Homer Rd, Marshall, MI 49068). A reception was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services (723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068).
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
