It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roderick Smith of Spring Lake, Michigan, born in Ludington, Michigan, who passed away on September 21, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Smith and Darlene Smith (Cleveland); his wife Mary Antecki; his daughter Bridget Smith; his former wife Linda Calkins-Smith; and his siblings, Nicholas Lovejoy, Al Smith, Mike Smith, Philip Smith and Lois Smith.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Brenda Alpers; his stepchildren, Melissa Cooper (Dan), Craig (Jamie), Scott Cardinel (Melissa), Fred and Miranda Alpers; his stepgrandchildren, Daniel, Taylor Cooper, Nicholas, Liam, Lennox Alpers, Chloe, Camden and Pfieffer Cardinel; his siblings, Darlene Ruiter (Maxine), Patti Jo Crow (Edward), Tim Smith, Sr. (Merry) and Anthony "Tony" Smith (Debbie); and his sister-in-law Debbie Smith. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
