Peter Sturrus Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 27, 2022, at the age of 89, Peter Sturrus of Spring Lake, Michigan, born in Oak Park, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Marinus Sturrus; his former wife Betty Dunning; his sons, Randall Sturrus and Gregory Iversen; his sisters, Mary Tjapkes (Burton), Margaret Workman (Alan), Joyce Webb (Ronald) and Verna Wagenmaker; and his siblings-in-law, John Kleeves, Alan Toxopeus, Fred Toxopeus (Harriet), Marilyn Workman, Carol Workman and Verna Wagenmaker.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Toxopeus Iversen; his children, Duane Sturrus (Betsy), Cindy Wolffis (Bruce) and Theresa VanDeWalker (Stephen); his daughters-in-law, Susan Edwards and Karen Lawson; and his siblings-in-law, Judith McCleod, Margaret Toxopeus, Alvin Wagenmaker, John Workman and Jon McCleod. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren with 12 spouses; 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial/love gifts may be given to yours, or Peter's favorite charities: Aquinas College, Calvin Theological Seminary, Calvin University, Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, Grand Haven Christian School, Muskegon Community College/Sturrus Technical Center, Hospice of North Ottawa Community, or Western Michigan Christian High School.
