He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Wierenga and Anna Wierenga (Olthof); his wife Ruth VanDyke; his son Andrew; his son-in-law Terry Rodrigues; and his siblings, Harold Wierenga, Eugene Wierenga, Jeanette Rycenga, Etta Peterson, Joan Bolthouse and Willene Brondyke Wezeman.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Rodrigues of Spring Lake, Edward Wierenga (Debra) of Spring Lake and Betty Leech (Phil) of Spring Lake; his grandchildren, Kurt Rodrigues (Maria), Dawn Buzzell (Kevin), Jeff Wierenga (Renee), Juli Holmes (Nick) and Keith Wilcoxson; and his siblings, Bill Wierenga (Arlene), Ken Wierenga, Jon Wierenga, Alice Whitwam (Jim), David Wierenga and Roy Wierenga (Sue). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
