It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Duane Stirling Smith of Spring Lake, Michigan, born in Milaca, Minnesota, who passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Stirling and Ann Smith (Hubers); his daughter Rachel Smith; his sister Margaret Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Cherry and Ray Gaudinier.
He is survived by: his wife Janie Smith; his stepchildren, Ron Barba, Kathy Smith-Downing, Amy Roesler (Dennis) and Adam Warner (Alina); his grandchildren, Marcus Stirling Smith, Tyler Churchill, Jake Churchill, Max Churchill, Maddie Churchill, Ziggy Warner, Roman Warner and Drake Roesler; and his sisters, Elizabeth Gaudinier, Sharon Cherry and Carol Teeler (John). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
