It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Catherine Newell of Spring Lake, Michigan, who passed away on April 26, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Boomgaard and Mildred Boomgaard (Smith); her husband Robert Newell; her son Daniel Newell; her grandson William Christianson; and her siblings, Millie DeBroux, Helen Ball, Phil, Peter, Joe, Robert and James Boomgaard.

She is survived by: her children, Mary Neerken (Dale) of Grand Haven, Gerri Christenson (William) of Spring Lake, Sara Berg (Scott) of Spring Lake, Anne Koopman (Mark) of Spring Lake, Phillip Newell (Cindy) of Grand Haven and Rodney Newell (Penny) of Grand Haven; her daughter-in-law Lori Newell of West Olive; her brother William Boomgaard (Sharon) of Grand Haven; and her sisters-in-law, Bette and Helen Boomgaard. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
