He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter H. DeWitt and Gertrude A. DeWitt (Kieft); his brother Charles DeWitt; and his siblings-in-law, Lou DeWitt, Joyce DeWitt, Effie VanTol, Angenieta DeYoung and Donn DeYoung.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene VanTol; his brothers, Jerry DeWitt (Ann) of Ferrysburg and Glen DeWitt (Gail); and his daughters, Sarah Pyne (Michael) of Spring Lake and Vicki Blake (Bill) of Plano, TX.. He is also survived by three daughters, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
