He was predeceased by: his parents, John Boss and Iola Boss (Chew); his former wife Pauline "Polly" Boss; his brothers, Dale Boss (Marilyn) and Dwight "Ike" Boss; and his brother-in-law James Terry.

He is survived by: his wife Beulah Boss; his sons, William "Bill" Boss (Carol) of Spring Arbor, Robert "Bob" Boss (Tuesdae) of Lapeer, Jack Boss (Debra) of Spring Arbor and Larry Boss (Kristi) of Lexington, KY; his sister Marlene Terry of Lubbock, TX; and his sister-in-law Joyce Boss of Charlevoix. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
