With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laura Helmer of Sparta, Michigan, born in Grant, Michigan, who passed away on December 29, 2023 at the age of 61. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Craig; her father James Shook Jr.; her brother James Shook III; her parents-in-law, Stanley and Roberta Helmer; and her brother-in-law Murray Potes.
She is survived by: her mother Dorothy Shook Jr. (Shue); her close friends, Cory Helmer (Samantha), Carrie Schneider (Tony) and Amanda Handlogten (Kyle); her grandchildren, Luella, Carter, Rachel, Lexi, Colton and Cooper; her sister Stacey Groenke (Dave); her siblings-in-law, Karen Potes, Janet Belcher (Larry) and Bruce Helmer (Denise); and her caregiver Mindi. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
