He is survived by: his sons, Andrew Heilala of Austin Texas, Dr. Adam Heilala (Lindsey) of Columbus, Ohio and Alex Heilala of Ann Arbor, Michigan.; his brothers, James Heilala (Myrna) and Robert Heilala (Barbara) of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.; his mother-in-law Anne Petersen; his aunt Dolores; his uncle Robert Poag; his siblings-in-law, Beth Waitrovich (Brian), Susan Lemke (Mark), Ruth Szapa (Terry), Anne Heino (Jeff), W. Mark Petersen (Denice) and Nick Petersen (Lisa); and his close friend Michael Saigh, MD. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
