He was predeceased by: his grandson Aaron; and his parents, Alvin Royal and Loretta Royal. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his sons, Richard Royal (late Noni), Michael Royal (Deena) and Matthew Royal (Dianna); his grandchildren, Graham (Heather), Amanda, Jeslyn and Dean; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Jaycie, Ashton and Fern; and his brother Gerald Royal (Nancy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
