He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Kurzmann and Ben Alterman; and his mother-in-law Minnie Levine (late Norman). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Alterman; his sons, Aaron Alterman (Caroline) of New Orleans and Edward Alterman (Kari) of Franklin; his grandchildren, Noa Alterman, Adina Alterman and Henry Max Alterman; his siblings, Soozee Alterman (Robert Kessler) of Bloomfield Hills and Anita Alterman of Las Vegas, Nevada.; his brother-in-law Barry Levine (Becky) of Traverse City, Michigan.; his nephew Daniel Levine (Melanie); and his niece Rachel Levine.
