He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Isabell Goins (Smith) and James Alex Goins. He is survived by: his close friend Dan Fifer; his daughter Laura Christine Goins; his son-in-law Aaron Shaul; his granddaughter Elsa Davis Shaul; his sister Sylvia (Donald) Trombley (Goins); his former wife Faith Bulemore (Gennrich) of Trenton, MI; and also Hans Gennrich. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
