He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Jalmer and Mary Josephine Moilanen (Onkalo); his wife Irene T. Karvonen; his brothers, Richard Moilanen and Edward "Willy" Moilanen; and his stepgrandsons, Ronnie Jean and Gerald Paavola.
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda Papke (Anthony); his grandson Ryan Papke; his stepdaughters, Gena Paavola and Judy Manning; his stepgrandson Alan Paavola; and his siblings, Walfred Moilanen and Edna Caldwell.
