It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Schmitz of South Lyon, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on September 26, 2021, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Lathrop and Shirley Lathrop (Fluegel); and her brother Keeley Lathrop. She is survived by: her husband Robert E. Schmitz; her children, Brad Schmitz (Chelsea) and Dana Utberg (Michael); her granddaughter Alexandra Utberg; and her sisters, Toni Klosowski (Tom), Donna Stewart (Mike), Cheryl Kokenos and Denise Lathrop. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends.
