He was predeceased by: his parents, Benedict Thelen and Edna Thelen (McKernan); his wife Denise; his daughter Jennifer Bourne; and his sister Mary.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Duncan (Eric), Brian Thelen (Marcia) and Nancy Thelen; his grandchildren, Zach Duncan (Catherine), Sam Duncan (Tori), Dominic Thelen, Caitlyn Thelen and Marshall Thelen; his great grandchildren, Angel, Genevieve, Theo, Asa and Louis; his son-in-law John Bourne; and his siblings, Michael Thelen (Karen) and Barbara Bureau.
