He was predeceased by: his father Francis Balden; and his siblings, Sandy Ledbetter and Tom Balden. He is survived by: his wife Ellen K. Hendrickson; his children, Jonathan Hendrickson (Chantel) and Aimee DeWaele (Scott); his grandchildren, Hayley, Alyssa, Isabella and Collin; his great grandchildren, Evangeline and Hayden; and his siblings, Sharon Cavanaugh (Bill), William Balden (Julie) and Patty Simpson (Fred).
