He is survived by: his wife Carol Berry-Plackowski; his sons, Dan Plackowski (Amy) and Derek Plackowski (Carol); his stepchildren, Kathryn Strelecki (Gary), Donald Brian Berry (Kim), Patricia Ann Preston (Curt) and Michelle Berry; and his siblings, Michael Plackowski and Phyllis Anderson. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
