He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cleon Avery and Marian Avery (Sanders); his wife Alice Avery of South Haven; his children, Jason Avery (Loretta) of South Haven and Jill Fessenden (Chad) of Comstock Park, Michigan.; his grandchildren, Britny, Abigail, Jaken Avery, Noah, Simon, Amalia Fessenden and Margot Mirabel (Dallas); his siblings, Jim Avery of South Haven, Leon Avery (Shirley) of Grand Rapids, Eunice Brush (Roger) of Holland, Michigan, Beth Kohlhoff (Fred) of South Haven, Marilyn Hisey (Randy) of Union, Michigan, Joy Melville (Jerry) of Schoolcraft, Michigan and Sue Hallgren Ovenshire of Palm Coast, Florida.; and his close friend Richard Bodfish (Teri). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews who recognized him as a father.
