It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sylvia R. Van Strien of South Haven, Michigan, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on July 14, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Goss and Sylvia Goss (Spoelstra); her husband John H. Van Strien; and her siblings, Cal Goss, George Goss, Charlotte Versluis, Fran Poley and Gertrude Harris.

She is survived by: her children, Dave Van Strien (Nancy), Nancy Miller (Ray), Tara Phelps (Tom), Linda Manning (Mark) and Sue Koning (Alan); her brothers, Jon Goss (Lynn) and Bob Goss; and her niece Sally Alford. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hope Reformed Church, 1365 Monroe Blvd., South Haven, Michigan 49090.
