He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Sloan and Frances Sloan; his son Tim Houle; and his siblings, Charlotte Williams, Donna Moutoux, Steven "Jake" Sloan, Samuel W. Sloan and Robert Sloan.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Fleming; his pet Riley; his children, Christine Brown (Ken), Robert Sloan, Rhonda Bringard (Greg) and John Houle (Sue); his daughter-in-law Jackie Houle; his grandchildren, Roderick Sloan, Tara Brown, Matt Bringard, Scarlet Bringard, Olivia Bringard, Ashley Surline (Chris), John Houle Jr., Tevin Houle, Robert Houle, Mitchell Houle, Haley Houle, Jason Hustek (Morgan) and J. C. Lynn Landschoot (Joe); his great grandchildren, Eli Wargo, Weston Surline and Graison Surline; his siblings, Grace Thompson (Tom) and Angus Sloan (JoAnne); and his close friends, Elmer Gamble, Tim Knisley and Brian Wolf. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
