With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Arlen Smith (Smiths Creek, Michigan), born in Port Huron, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 20, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Richard Arlen's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Richard Arlen has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Smith and Francis Smith (Denison); his daughter Shirley Basnaw; and his daughter-in-law Theresa Smith. He is survived by: his wife Eva Elizabeth Smith; his children, Edna Bailey (Duane) of Port Huron and Richard Smith Jr. of Port Huron; and his sister Betty Jo Smith. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
