He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Yvonne (Thompson) and James Alvin Huntley, Sr.; his daughter Crystal Huntley; and his siblings, Clair, Jessie, June and Marjorie.
He is survived by: his children, James A. Huntley III (Monica) of Six Lakes and Shantee Huntley (Michael) of Mt. Morris; his stepmother Gloria Huntley; his stepson Brandon Hall of Flint; his grandchildren, Charlene, Alexander, Jacob, Logan and Brody; and his siblings, Joan (Larry), Marcella (Jeff), Brian, Vickie (Mark), Rex, Rusty (Star), Annette and Rita. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
