He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Wellman and Irene Wellman (Zimmer); his sister Sharon Green; and his grandchildren, Brittney Franks and Christopher Gallagher.
He is survived by: his wife Janet; his sons, Roy Franks (Carin) of Ionia and Roy Wellman (Jaime) of Stanton; his grandchildren, Destin Franks of Portland, Kaiden Franks of Ionia, Logan Franks-Cooper of Saranac, Mason Wellman of Stanton and Carley Wellman of Stanton; his brother-in-law Gary Green of Portland; and his niece Theresa Green-Densmore of Portland.
