He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Canute and Elsie Canute (Glatz); his wife Anita Spencer; his parents-in-law, Emzie and Lawrence Spencer; his son Robert L. Canute; his brothers, Ron, Dave, Jerry and Billy; his brother-in-law Ron; and his sisters, Bonnie and Sue.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Canute of Shepherd and Bruce Canute (Sue) of Shepherd; his grandchildren, Annie Canute-Duffy, Nikki Canute, Nathan Canute, Matthew Canute, Chris Canute (Star), Chad Canute (Tonya) and Brad Canute (Stephanie); his great grandchildren, Taylinn, Grayson, Kameron, Brent (Mariah), Ty, Carlie and Layken; his great great grandchildren, Evey and Molly; his sisters, Mary Seymour and Sheila Rau (Larry); his sister-in-law Gloria; and also Vickie Canute of Shepherd. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
