It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janis White King of Shepherd, Michigan, born in DeKalb, Illinois, who passed away on September 17, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Janis leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter White and Helen White. She is survived by: her husband Pete; her daughters, Melissa Garry of Traverse City and Amy Kingsworthy (David) of Mt Pleasant; her grandsons, Mark and Matthew Kingsworthy; and her sister Sandra Anderson (Andy) of Plainfield, IL. She is also survived by many other family members (aka "sisters") and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mount Pleasant Community Church (1400 W Broomfield St, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Community Church, Masonic Pathways, Heartland Hospice, or Alzheimer's Association.
