He was predeceased by: his parents, Regina DeWitt and Albert William Kornoelje; his brother Bill Kornoelje; his parents-in-law, Joyce Schmidt and Melbourne Schmidt; and his brothers-in-law, Steven Schmidt, Ronald Schmidt and William Rabideau.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Kornoelje; and his siblings-in-law, Roberta Palmer (Fred), Nancy Scobey (Tom), Linda Schmidt, Joyce Ward, David Schmidt (Sandy) and Richard Schmidt (Sandy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
