He is survived by: his parents, Benjamin Near and Margaret Near (Roth); his wife Phoebe Ann Near (Bear); his children, Lawrence Near, Bradley Near (Rachel Vonstein), Ann Sutkay (Nicholas) and Phoebe Kay Near; and his siblings, John Near (Carol), Mark Near (Beth), Jessie Beam (Harvey) and Joyce Sedig (Chris). He is also survived by five grandchildren.
