He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ludwig and Mabel Ludwig (Walker); his wife Peggy; his son Lonny (Jeanette); his grandsons, Seth and Theron; and his siblings, Richard, Henry (Victor), Marge Willick, Elizabeth Payne (Betty) and Faye Darling.

He is survived by: his children, Larry (Rosemarie) of Swartz Creek, Lanette Vanderlinde (Bill) of North Muskegon, Lee (Lisa) of Bridge City, Laurie Coker (Ben) of Fairbanks and Lisa Pladdet (Daniel) of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandon, Jeremy, Nathan, Nicholas, Stephanie, Broderick, Ben and Abigail; his sister Shirley Herin (Bob); and his close friend Evelyn Vanderbeek of Hart, Michigan.. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
