He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Barnes and Marion Barnes; his wife Linda Freiwald; his children, Derrick Barnes (Tiffany) and Carrie Dulin (Bryan); his grandchildren, Kendall and Summer; and his brothers, Dan (Donna), Mike (Susan) and Tim (Linda).

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (54880 Van Dyke, Shelby Township, MI 48316). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (25 Mile Rd, Shelby Township, MI).
