He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Lewsley; his son James Lewsley; and his sister Elizabeth Hoeft. He is survived by: his children, David Lewsley (Laureen), Paul Lewsley (Sandra), Thomas Lewsley (Pamela), Linda Thompson (Mark), Robert Lewsley (Catherine) and Jay Lewsley (Lauretta). He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Desmond's name may be directed to St John Lutheran Church in Rochester.
