He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Kunisch and Dorothy Kunisch (Beck); and his brother James Kunisch of Gaylord. He is survived by: his stepmothers, Esther Kunisch (Loll) and Doris Kunisch (Reubelt); his wife Aileen Ziehm-Kunisch; his sons, William Kunisch of Honolulu and Eric Kunisch (Jorri Novak) of Midland; his grandchildren, Ella Kunisch, Andrew Kunisch of Midland, Haley Novak of Chicago and Carter Novak of East Lansing; his sister Peggy Hansen (Rocky) of Rockford; and his sister-in-law Marge Kunisch of Gaylord.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Inc. (538 S Beck St, Sebewaing, MI 48759). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Ducks Unlimited, Bay Port Community of Christ Church or the Dementia Society of America.
