She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul and Leona Fibranz (Armbruster); her husband Clifford Bates, Jr.; her brothers-in-law, Harold Proudfoot, Henry Reis and Vernon Bates; and her son-in-law Donald Carpenter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jean Carpenter, Janet Briolat (Dennis) and Gredel Warbeck; her grandchildren, Joshua Carpenter (Missy), Jessica Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter (Laura), Karen Parlberg (Doug), Jason Skirlo (Crystal Scott) and Katelyn Skirlo (Cody Ostrander); her great grandchildren, Nathan, Grace Carpenter, Lilly Wolkens, Lucas, Isaac, Levi Carpenter, Kyle, Carson, Caleb Parlberg, Callen, Henry and Axel Scott; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Reis and Norma Bates; and her nieces and nephews, Diane Ewald (Larry), Annette Macklin, Tim Bates (Becky) and Jim Bates (Michele).
