He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Johnston and Helena Johnston (Williams); his wife Marilyn; his sons, Mark and Bryan; and his brothers, Herbert, Leslie, Fredrick and Bert.
He is survived by: his son Todd Johnston (Amy). He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
