It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Violet Murphy (Schoolcraft, Michigan), born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on August 8, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola White and Cyril White; her husband John Murphy; and her sisters, Gloria Schommer and Anita Babin (John Murphy).
She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey Thompson (Susan Cole) and Elizabeth Koperdak (Jim Krause); and her grandchildren, Adriane Thompson, Alexis, Nicholas, Emily Koperdak and Alex Koperdak.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Southwest Michigan, American Cancer Society, the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, the Kalamazoo Film Society, or the Western Michigan Theatre Program.
