He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Walter and Clara Benkeser Walter; his sister Betty (Bud Jensen); and his daughter Arlene Walter Moord. He is survived by: his wife Carol Madigan; his brother Fred Walter (Lorna); his stepdaughter Melanie Witkowski (Quentin); his grandchildren, MaRinda Stamp (Mac), MaHaley Moord, Hadley and Sutton Witkowski; his great grandchildren, Cameron, Brixton and Ellis Stamp; his stepdaughter Ardel Bontrager (Al); his stepgrandchildren, Bridget Frost (Tim) and Brandon Bontrager (Chris); his niece Rita Griffith; his nephew David Walter (Lucinda); his cousin Doug Bowman; his former wife Carol Walter; and also Ardel.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined due to the pandemic.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ascension at Home Hospice or Scotts United Methodist Church where he was a member for 25 years.
