It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Richard Sparks of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, who passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Sparks and Viola Sparks (Gooderman); his wife Isabelle Grace Martin; his daughter Deborah Kellis; his grandson Billy Killips; and his siblings, Edward, William, Donald Sparks and Shirley Brosco.
He is survived by: his children, Melvin Sparks (Susan), John Sparks (Colleen), Carol Maleport (Gary) of Sault Ste, Lisa Killips (Frank) of Sault Ste and Marie; his grandchildren, Mandy Emplit (Dan), Domine King, Jenifer Perks, Niki Pfluger (Brad), Michael Sparks, Jody Sandhagen, Zackary Maleport (Tiffany), Kayla Garibay (Orlando), Jesse Killips and Frank Killips; and his sisters, Lorraine Brown (Richard) and Loretta McCormick. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Family Life Funeral Homes - Sault Ste (4951 M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
