He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gilman and Zelpha Gilman (VanDine); and his siblings, Helen Mae McNeal, Pearl Louise Church and James F Gilman.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his daughters, Robin Bruins (Walter) and Tonia Barnes (Timothy); his sister-in-law Carolyn Gilman; and his siblings, Nicolette Oshier, Jacquelyn Gilman and Geoffrey Gilman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.
