He was predeceased by: his fathers, Alden (Doris Race) and Anthony (Mary Kriekaard); his son David Race (Ann); and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Thompson, William Kriekaard (Marge), Jim Thomas (Mary), Robert Elmer (Pearl) and Ronald Kriekaard.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Race (Kriekaard); his daughter-in-law Ann Race (David); his children, Michael Race (Laurie) and Russell Race (Kim); his siblings, Lawrence Race (Joyce), Mary Thomas and Margaret Schuitman; and his sisters-in-law, Marge Kreiekaard and Pearl Elmer. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
