He was predeceased by: his parents, Austra Salka and Rudolfs Salka; his grandparents, Karlis and Katrina Silins; his aunts and uncles, Valdis, Velda and Skaidrite Rieksts (Alberts); his cousins, Diana and Saulvija; his parents-in-law, Stanley and Ann Wisniewski; his brother-in-law Andrew; and his close friend Truswell.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Salka; his children, Andrea Henderson (Troy), Tim Salka (Patty) and Kristin Morrissey (Bryan); his grandchildren, Rowan, Annabella, Evangeline and Murron Henderson; and his cousins, Modris Silins and Zintis Rieksts (Monica).
